Professor Richard Herman, Chancellor of University of Illinois, Urbana Champaign (UIUC) in the U.S., visited Tsinghua on November 18.

Tsinghua President Gu Binglin welcomed Professor Herman to Tsinghua, giving a brief introduction of the development of the university’s disciplines. The two sides also exchanged ideas on education and fund raising.

President Gu and Professor Herman later signed a Memorandum of Understanding for cooperation on behalf of the two universities. A discussion on potential collaboration between Tsinghua and UIUC was held after the signing ceremony.
