From Hai Xuan

Fifteen professors from Tsinghua University obtained grants from the 2006 National Outstanding Youth Fund. One hundred and seventy researchers from higher education institutes and research organizations were awarded funds, each of whom will gain RMB 1.4 to 2 million yuan in the next four years to support their research.

The fifteen Tsinghua professors who received grants are XIE Huimin from the School of Aerospace, HE Hongjian from the Department of Engineering Physics, HE Kebin and YU Gang from the Department of Environmental Science and Engineering, SUN Fanglin from the School of Medicine, WANG Xiaohui from the Department of Material Science and Engineering, LIU Bin and SUN Fuchun from the Department of Computer Science and Technology, YONG Junhai from the School of Software, ZHANG Xuegong and ZHOU Tong from the Department of Automation, BAI Chong’en and CHEN Guoquan from the School of Economics and Management, WENG Zhengyu from the Center for Advanced study, and ZHOU Bing from the Department of Biological Sciences and Biotechnology.
