Dr. Vint Cerf, Vice President and Chief Internet Evangelist for Google, was invited to be honorary professor in Tsinghua on March 1.
Tsinghua Vice President Xie Weihe attended the awarding ceremony held in the main building and awarded the letter of appointment to Dr. Cerf.
After the ceremony, Dr. Cerf gave a lecture entitled “The Future of Internet” and answered questions raised by the students.

Widely known as one of the "Fathers of the Internet," Cerf is the co-designer of the TCP/IP protocols and the architecture of the Internet. Dr. Cerf and his colleague, Robert E. Kahn, were named the recipients of the ACM Alan M. Turing award in 2004 for their work on the Internet protocols.
