“Although I have left my Alma Mater for many years, self-discipline and social commitment have already become my motto,” says Dr. Wu Beili (China), an alumnus from the School of Medicine during a commencement ceremony of the Class of 2021.
Spending days and nights tinkering with beakers and cells in the lab and meeting her lifelong partner, Dr. Wu spent the most beautiful and unforgettable 5 years of her life at Tsinghua. After graduation, she pursued her post-doctoral studies at The Scripps Research Institute, determined to achieve success in G protein-coupled receptor (GPCR) research, the so-called “Mission Impossible” of the field.
"Seriousness is our way of adhering to details. Details determine success. Success allows us to enjoy different kinds of wonder.” Dr. Wu wishes the Class of 2021 a bright future.
