Tsinghua University School of Economics and Management (Tsinghua SEM) launched a global executive program - Opportunity in Diversity: Decoding the Dynamic Chinese Economy on August 9, 2021.
The 20-day program will be rolled out both online and offline. It has been designed so that participants can take the live-virtual modules for 8 days and then be on-campus in different locations for 12 days. They can choose to take the live-virtual and on-campus modules independently.
The live-virtual modules will expand the curriculum to cover different and complete topics flexibly, including the Macro-economy & Business Environment, Digitization & Marketing, Finance & Investment, and Innovation & Entrepreneurship.
Due to the global circumstances and the geographical restrictions imposed by the Covid-19 pandemic, the hands-on online format will help participants anywhere in the world to acquire the keys necessary to fully understand the Chinese economy.
The 12-day offline modules have been designed to provide the right education in the right place. Participants will learn about China’s state and technological vision in the dynamic city of Beijing; they will discover how to connect the world with China in the universal city of Shanghai; and they will dive deep into bottom-up entrepreneurial ecosystems in the thriving entrepreneurial city of Shenzhen. Graduates will join a rich network of executives throughout China and be awarded a course study certificate by Tsinghua University.
The program will integrate interactive learning through proactive lectures, insightful case studies, and valuable company visits.
Applicants should have a strong interest and a rich experience of the Chinese business world. They should be currently living and working in China (or planning to), with a solid academic foundation and at least five years of work experience, including solid experience in managing teams and/or projects.
In order to obtain an in-depth understanding of Chinese business practices, regulatory frameworks and consumer expectations, the curriculum has been designed to prepare participants to identify opportunities, to expand existing businesses and to overcome challenges in the fast-changing Chinese business world.
At the end of the program, graduates will acquire an expanded skills set that will help them compete advantageously, perform well and collaborate better.
