Professor Zhangkai Huang holds his Ph.D. from the University of Oxford. He is doing research in the Chinese economy, financial markets, and economic history. His research appears in leading international journals like the American Economic Review.

“To predict the future, you need to understand the past.” In this lecture, Professor Zhang will discuss some of China’s unique institutions by digging out their historical roots. Then he will explain China’s seemingly incomprehensible policies.
