Many Tsinghua faculty and staff members have been working from home since Tsinghua implemented epidemic prevention and control measures.
To help them maintain their physical and mental well-being during this period of time, the Office of Human Resources of Tsinghua University, in collaboration with the Division of Sports Science and Physical Education, has launched virtual fitness classes.
A team of five fitness instructors from the Division of Sports Science and Physical Education – Peng Jianmin, Wang Haiyan, Li Bo, Tian Qile and Zhou Xiaojing – are running five online classes per week, teaching different types of exercises that Tsinghua faculty and staff members can do together with their family members at home.
The classes, which started on May 30, are broadcast live on Tsinghua’s Rain Classroom and other live streaming platforms.
Tsinghua faculty and staff members have been participating in these fitness classes enthusiastically, embodying the sporting spirit of “No Sports, No Tsinghua.”
The total number of viewers watching the live broadcast in the first three days was as high as 268,000, with the highest number of viewers reaching 83,000 on a single live broadcast.
The classes will conclude on June 10.
