Supported by academic departments or schools at Tsinghua University, these workshops will provide a platform for students to share ideas and engage in a dialogue with guest speakers regarding sustainable development.

Theme and Introduction 




Sustainable Lifestyles


Sustainable development is becoming a global trend around the world, and its impact penetrates into power, industry, transportation, food and other aspects. BMW and ABB are committed to using smart technology to promote sustainable urban development, and its achievements in the field of sustainable development are widely recognized. Nestlé actively implements the concept of sustainable development in food production and manufacturing, ensures the supply of healthy and green raw materials, pays attention to the protection of the ecological environment, and innovatively conducts sustainable supply chain management to achieve greenhouse gas emission reduction. In this workshop, we will invite three experts from the sustainable development industry to discuss about the impact of sustainable development on personal and social life. Another guest from Perfect World will discuss about positive psychology and personal growth path with you.

Professor LI Jizhen, Associate Dean of School of Economics and Management; Professor of Department of Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Strategy, Tsinghua University. He is also a research fellow and vice director at the Research Center for Technological Innovation at Tsinghua University,and the director at the Research Center for Competitive Dynamics and Innovation Strategy.

Jizhen holds a PhD(2002) in Management Science, a MA in Management Science, and BE(1997) both in Automobile Engineering and Industrial Engineering from the Tsinghua University. He visited MIT Sloan School of Management as an International Faculty Fellow for half a year in 2006.

He teaches courses such as Management of Technological Innovation and Project Management.

His research interests include Digital transformation and innovation, Management of technological innovation, Science & technology policy,  Project management ,and SMEs Innovation and Entrepreneurship.

As Principal Investigator, he has finished or is working on more than 30 research projects, include six research projects funded by NSF of China. He has published more than 100 journal articles.

Frank Hansen

BMW Group Corporate Strategy, Sustainability and Mobility

Frank Hansen has been working for the BMW Group since 2004. In December 2019, he re-entered the company's strategy area with the newly established Department for Sustainability and Mobility and the integration of the BMW Center of Competence for Urban Mobility, which he co-founded in 2015. Since then, he has been developing urban mobility solutions and initiating cooperation with cities and various players in urban mobility. Together with university partners, Frank Hansen is developing new approaches for identifying and analysing demand-side potentials for sustainable mobility. Previously, he was responsible for the long-term premises in the areas of mobility and urbanization within the Group strategy. From 2004 to 2010, he worked at the Institute for Mobility Research (ifmo) on projects on the future of mobility. Here, Frank Hansen developed future scenarios for passenger and freight transport in a network of experts and was responsible for communicating research results to stakeholders in the mobility industry and transport policy. From 2001 to 2003, the graduate in business administration was a research assistant at the Daimler Society and Technology Research Group.


Vice president, Corporate Affairs & Sustainability, Nestlé Zone Greater China

David FANG has been Vice president, Head of Corporate Affairs & Sustainability at Nestlé Zone Greater China since December 2018. He joined Nestlé from Ford China, one of the leading automobile and mobility brands in the world, where he was Vice President of Communication. Prior to this, he has served a number of multinationals including Carlsberg, GE and FedEx etc. on different managerial roles at both local and regional levels.

Yufeng Chi

Yufeng Chi received his Bachelor degree of Chemistry from Tsinghua University, received his Ph.D. degree of Business Administration from Singapore Management University, received his Ph.D. degree of Business Administration from University of Minnesota. He is the visiting professor of management practice at School of Economics and Management, Tsinghua University. He founded iHuman and developed learning software such as "Opening the World". In recent years, he has launched "iHuman Chinese" and other apps, and the animation series "Cosmicrew". He also created Perfect World Games and launched "Perfect World" Games such as "Zhu Xian" have been widely praised, and have long been in the forefront of China's game exports. He founded Perfect World Pictures (PWPIC), and produced films such as "To the Elderly with Love" and "Love Is Not Blind" that have won many awards. He founded the All History which is a historical knowledge platform based on the AI knowledge map and shows different perspectives of the history. He was awarded as the Internet Economy Person of the Year 2019, the Chinese Economic Person of the Year 2016, the Chinese Internet Person of the Year 2014 and the Chinese Cultural Industry Person of the Year 2012.

Founded in 1984, Tsinghua University School of Economics and Management is committed to advancing knowledge and cultivating leaders for China and the world.
