Program Overview

In this intensive program, students learn how to take an innovative idea from concept to development, and how to launch a project. The program will put you in a project-based curriculum developed around three key disciplines: design thinking, technology development, and entrepreneurship.

Students will receive two graduate degrees from leading universities:
1. University of Washington: Master of Science in Technology Innovation (MSTI).
2. Tsinghua University: Master of Science in Engineering (Data Science and Information Technology) (MSE(DSIT)), or a Master’s Degree in Design.

To keep abreast with the development in social economy and in technologies, which brings new challenges as well as opportunities, a cross-disciplinary knowledge of art and science becomes more important for future art & design talents and industrial leaders. With the mutual aims to cultivate such talents, GIX cooperates with the Academy of Arts & Design, Tsinghua University** to offer new learning opportunities for students with art & design background.

The goal of this new direction is to improve the breadth and depth of students’frontier knowledge, build information product innovation for cultural creative industries, and cultivate high-level compound talents with an interdisciplinary knowledge structure. New Dual Degree Timeline Fall 2021
Starting Fall of 2021, we will adopt a new program structure geared toward providing more time for students to meet with their faculty advisors in the early stage of their thesis.

Application Deadlines (based on applicant's passport):
> International students : Jan 18, 2021. Admissions decisions will be communicated in mid-March, 2021.
> As a dual degree program, students are required to apply on both universities’ graduate admission portal by the required deadline.
