Course Description
In today’s world the ability to present before an audience is extremely important. That’s because public speaking provides an opportunity to inspire those you care about, it can become a tool for you to communicate your vision, it can be used as a platform you can use to unite, help and educate.
Public speaking can help you elevate your career and give you the opportunity to develop complementary skills such as critical thinking, poise and leadership. It can help you do better at job interviews, promote your brand and build credibility. It can empower you to get out of your comfort zone and boost your confidence. Most importantly, however, it can allow you to connect with people who resonate with your message, speak to their hearts and create meaningful relationships. Public speaking is one of the most important aspects of leadership and a skill that can significantly improve your prospects of success.
Through this course we will learn how to draft a speech, how to practice, perfect and deliver it. At the end, we will put all of these elements together and present our speech in front of our class. This will not be a contest but an opportunity to improve this very important skill in a safe environment and get feedback from the course instructor.
About the instructor
Costas Georgiou ,Legal Counsel, BeHive Co-founder, MBA Scholar,Costas Georgiou read Law at The University of Manchester in the UK and has been working as an International Legal Counsel for an Intellectual Property Law Firm in Beijing for the past 2,5 years. He is the co-founder of BeHive, an organization that helps university students and young professionals develop transferable career skills through interactive online and offline workshops. He is currently studying towards the UCL MBA at Peking University and is the receiver of the Peking University Social Welfare Pioneering Scholarship and the QS World University Rankings MBA Community Scholarship. He has spoken at numerous international conferences and has facilitated workshops for organisations such as LinkedIn, Volkswagen, TechStars, StartUp Grind, Tsinghua and Peking University among others.

You could get the Public Speaking Mini pass provided by Tsinghua Global Competence Development Center after finishing this course! When you have collected certain passes, you could get the mini-pass! So please keep following Tsinghua Global Competence Development Center’s activities afterwards.
