On July 22nd, members of the Tsinghua University Mountaineering Team successfully summited the Aemye Ma-chhen Range. At 6 000 metres above sea level, this range has the highest peak at the source of the Yellow River.
To prepare for the climb, the 12 mountaineers endured five weeks of intensive training on physical strength, technical skill, and mountain climbing knowledge. On July 11th, the team set up base camp in the mountain range and began the climb. It took them 11 days to reach the summit.
Since 1990s, the Tsinghua University Mountaineering Team has been forming teams to climb mountains all over the country during summer every year. The flags of the mountaineering team have been flying at some of the tallest mountains in the country, including the peaks of Muztagh Ata and Changtse.
