On September 25th to 26th, the Asian Universities Alliance (AUA) held the 2021 AUA Online Education Fair. The 15 Asian universities, which are leading institutions of higher education in their respective countries or regions, shared a glimpse of their university and provided admission information to interested international students. Admission officers and staff from each member university came online to share their knowledge on the application process and requirements, and insights on student inquiries.
A total of 26 sessions were broadcasted online; short-term and undergraduate programs were explored on the first day and postgraduate programs were discussed on the second day. More than six thousand enthusiastic students attended the education fair online, with many expressing interest in specific programs. The website of the education fair was viewed by more than ten thousand people. Despite the fact that many students in the world are now studying from home due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the positive reception and participation in the event shows that international students remain keen on studying in Asia.
AUA was proposed by Tsinghua University and established in April 2017 by 15 Asian universities. The AUA Online Education 2021 was organized by the AUA Secretariat, which is permanently hosted by Tsinghua University.
