On July 3, the 60th anniversary art review exhibition of Zhang Tinglu’s art career opened at the Art Museum of Beijing People's Fine Arts Publishing House.
The exhibition, hosted by the Tsinghua University Academy of Arts & Design, features over 150 pieces of fine paintings by the artist throughout his 60-year career.
Born in Beijing in 1939, Zhang Tinglu graduated from the High School Affiliated to the Central Academy of Fine Arts in 1961 and the Central Academy of Arts & Design (now the Tsinghua University Academy of Arts & Design) in 1966. He is a member of China Artists Association, an art educator, and a consultant of Hong Kong Artists Association.
Zhang has served as professor of Chinese painting, dean of academic affairs and member of academic committee of Tsinghua University Academy of Arts & Design.
He has been a student of professors Lu Chen, Tian Shiguang, Yu Zhizhen and Bai Xueshi. Many of his works were exhibited, awarded and collected in the United States, France, South Korea, Japan, Australia and other countries, as well as Hong Kong and Taiwan in China.
Zhang has published three monographs and more than 10 papers, and over 100 of his works have been published in newspapers and magazines such as Art, Traditional Chinese Painter and Guangming Daily.
