The Tsinghua University Campus Marathon kicked off on April 16 with over 2,600 teachers, students and alumni sprinting after the starting shot was fired.
Tsinghua President Wang Xiqin and Vice-President Yang Bin took part in the men's 10-kilometer marathon.
The race consisted of four groups including men's and women's half marathons and 10-kilometer runs.
The contestants ran from the Zijing playground, passing by landmarks such as the University Library, the West Gymnasium, the Old Gate, the Main Building, and Tsinghua University Art Museum.
Wang Wenjie, a 2022 undergraduate from the School of Economics and Management, won the men's 10 km race in 33 minutes and 30 seconds. His fellow student, Luo Yue, won the women's 10 km race. Zheng Tie, a 2021 doctoral student from the School of Environment, won the men's half marathon, while the women's half marathon was won by Li Haixia, a 2008 alumna from the School of Architecture.
The event was supported by a team of 90 referees and staff, along with 141 student volunteers who provided on-site services.
