A seminar about Public Art and Urban Spirit was held on Saturday at the 798 International Art Exchange Center in Beijing's 798 Art Zone.
As a part of the Art Dialogues series, the seminar aims to provide a platform for researchers and scholars to communicate and work together. It was hosted by the public art and sculpture artistic committee under the Beijing Urban Planning Society and Times Art.
Mainly focusing on the relationship between art and urban development, the seminar saw participation from critics and scholars including Dong Shubing from Tsinghua University, Jing Yumin from China's Urban Sculptors Association and Yu Huayun from the Beijing Urban Planning Society.
You Yang from the UCCA Center for Contemporary Art said that the artistic practices in cities can motivate people's potential and passion in daily life.
