On the afternoon of June 29, Beijing time, Tsinghua University's 2021 Global Summer School (GSS2021) Youth Forum series was officially launched with the holding of the first forum: Internationalization Efforts at Tsinghua University. The forum was attended by David Zupko and Meng Bo, Associate Deans of International Affairs at Tsinghua University, and Peter E. Lobie, Member of the Academic Steering Committee of the Tsinghua Shenzhen International Graduate School. It was chaired by Xiao Qian, Associate Dean of International Affairs at Tsinghua University. More than 100 summer school students participated in the event online.

David Zupko introduced the history of Tsinghua’s international development, its Global Strategy, internationalization capacity enhancement plan, as well as key related results achieved. Meng Bo gave a detailed account of Tsinghua’s overseas bases, such as the Global Innovation eXchange, Sino-Italian Design Innovation Hub, Southeast Asia Center and Latin America Center, as well as alliances launched by the university including the Asian Universities Alliance, Global Alliance of Universities on Climate, and Global MOOC Alliance. Peter E. Lobie introduced the background of the Shenzhen International Graduate School, its characteristics, projects and campus life and environment. He also shared the School’s latest developments in open teaching, innovation and entrepreneurship, and international cooperation and exchange.
