On the evening of November 6th, the Precision Instrumentation Department held its 2023 Student Affairs and Party Construction Work Seminar in the old School of Economics and Management auditorium. Bai Benfeng, the Party Secretary of the Precision Instrumentation Department, along with Deng Lei, the leader of the Graduate Work Group, Xiao Qirong, the leader of the Student Group, undergraduate class advisors, instructors for the Student Association of Science and Technology, as well as all undergraduate counselors, graduate moral education work assistants, members of the Communist Youth League, student council, Student Association of Science and Technology, Graduate Youth League Committee, Graduate Student Council and other student organization leaders, class and league branch officers, undergraduate and graduate party branch secretaries and committee members, with more than 60 people in attendance. The seminar was chaired by Wu Guanhao, the deputy secretary of the department's party committee.
Wu Guanhao first succinctly summarized the overall situation of student work in the Precision Instrumentation Department over the past year, covering aspects such as student party construction, academic science and innovation, employment practice, and guidance in ideological and political education. He pointed out that in the past year, under the leadership of the department's party committee, the student affairs of the Precision Instrumentation Department grasped important historical opportunities, promoted the reform and innovation of ideological and political work, guided the development of student ideological and political work according to the situation, and constructed a collaborative education system that deeply integrates "whole-person education" and "five-aspect education," achieving significant results. He also identified current issues and challenges facing student work in the Precision Instrumentation Department.
Xiao Qirong and Deng Lei gave comprehensive reports on undergraduate and graduate student work, respectively, systematically summarizing student affairs and looking forward to future work. Xiao Qirong summarized undergraduate student work from several aspects, including the overall situation of college undergraduates, ideological and political leadership, the construction of a five-aspect education system, the cultivation of talents through scientific and creative activities, and the joint work of colleges. Deng Lei introduced the graduate student work, proposing enriching party construction forms, solidly building the ideological and political education matrix, and constructing a comprehensive student development support system with characteristics of the Precision Instrumentation Department, aiming for effective and influential graduate student cultivation.
Following that, student leader representatives shared their work experiences and discussed effective measures to further improve the quality of student work in the Precision Instrumentation Department. Zhu Runze, the party branch secretary of Precision 1, and Geng Shiqi, the party branch secretary of Precision Doctoral 201, represented the undergraduate and graduate party branches and shared their experiences in constructing cohesive and characteristic party branches with focuses on party construction and theoretical study.
In terms of student organizations, Wang Chen, secretary of the student league committee of the Precision Instrumentation Department, An Mengyu, secretary of the graduate student league committee, and Zheng Mingcan, chairman of the graduate student council, introduced the work of their respective organizations in ideological and political guidance, practical research, employment guidance, and five-aspect education, creating a series of characteristic brand activities. Liu Zhexian, the instructor for the undergraduate Association of Science and Technology, described the structure, resources, and special talent training programs of the association and its achievements in premium competitions.
Regarding class and league construction, Zhang Zhuohang, the class leader of Precision 03, and Zhang Yifan, the class leader of Precision Master 23, represented the undergraduate and graduate class committees and shared their experiences and achievements in study atmosphere construction, ideological cohesion, and practical volunteering, proposing innovative ideas for class construction.
The meeting also recognized the outstanding student party branches and secretaries of the Precision Instrumentation Department for the year 2022.
Finally, in his concluding remarks, Bai Benfeng highly appreciated the construction and achievements of the student work team of the Precision Instrumentation Department over the past year. Focusing on the goal of nurturing top-notch innovative talents who are reliable for the nation, the student affairs of the Precision Instrumentation Department paid attention to detail and dared to innovate, exploring many new methods and forms of work, effectively enhancing the immersion and participation of activities. Bai also set forth new requirements for future student work and party construction: to clarify problem orientation, to deeply discuss current issues in student work, to guide student affairs with a problem-oriented approach, to remember to focus on student growth, to engage deeply with students, to carry out solid work, to continuously innovate methods, and to genuinely assist students in their development and improvement; and to clearly understand the value and significance of student work, to make progress together with students. All student work teams should uphold the spirit of "striving for perfection, stopping at the best," maintain high standards in all aspects, create experiences, set examples, and strive to become pioneers and benchmarks in the university's student affairs. As the annual largest student and Party construction work seminar in the Precision Instrumentation Department, this conference has achieved the purpose of unifying thoughts, enhancing awareness, and promoting the inheritance and exchange of work methods.
