On April 28 2017, the Chen Daisun Theoretical Economics Lecture was held in Conference Room 221 of Mingzhai Building. It was jointly organized by the Institute of Economics and Minsheng Institute of Economic Research of Tsinghua University. Pang Chengjun, Vice President of DiDi Chuxing (one of China’s Uber), and Guangrui Guo, Assistant Professor at University of Windsor, were invited to make keynote speeches. Students in different grades also attended.
Mr. Pang gave an excellent speech themed “Platform Strategy: Analysis on the Practice of DiDi Chuxing”. DiDi Chuxing has developed into the world’s leading one-stop mobile transportation platform in the last four years. Mr Pang discussed questions such as: How could DiDi develop so quickly? How does its rapid development benefit society? What about the future development of the company?
Dr. Guangrui Guo introduced a dynamic strategic management theory he was studying, as well as related models, on the theme of “Conceptualizing, Theorizing, and Modeling Business Reality”. He also presented applications of the approach.
After the presentations, many students discussed in-depth on the topics with the two guests.
