The Chen Daisun Theoretical Economics Lecture sponsored by the Institute of Economics, School of Social Sciences, Tsinghua University has been held for 11 years successfully. The Lecture aims to cultivate academic research level of the postgraduates and good academic research atmosphere of the Institute, improve our level and quality in domestic and international exchange and cooperation, and enhance our influences in theoretical economics research field both at home and abroad.
At 11: 45 a.m. on Oct. 26, 2018, a new session of Chen Daisun Theoretical Economics Lecture was held in Rm.315, Mingzhai Hall, attracting students from all departments and institutes under the School of Social Sciences, including 22 undergraduates, M.S. students and doctoral students. Prof. Ronaldo C. Parente from Florida International University was invited to give a lecture, at which he demonstrated two research papers and shared some attentions to and relevant suggestions on publishing papers through top periodicals.

Prof. Ronaldo first demonstrated the paper Learning Asymmetries in Beer-Supplier Relations: Addressing the Effects of Vertical Knowledge Spillovers, which discusses influences of asymmetry in vertical knowledge spillover and supply chain knowledge learning. The students were very interested in the theme. Doctoral Student Zhoudi from the Institute of Economics addressed questions on the data structure, time length and definitions of some terms in the paper, which Prof. Ronaldo explained more clearly. In Section 2, Prof. Ronaldo shared another paper Tacit Knowledge Integration Capabilities in Strategic Modularization and Its Impact on Firm Performance. M.S. Student Jeff from the Institute of Economics asked some questions about case study and questionnaire data, and Professor Ronaldo answered these questions in details.

In Section 3, Prof. Ronaldo shared his experiences of publishing papers in top periodicals, particularly made very detailed, accurate and practical suggestions on paper title selection, literature review, model building, discussion and future research and contributions, greatly illuminating the M.S. students and doctoral students present at the Lecture and helping them make less detour in regard to their researches in the following days, for which the experiences were unanimously appreciation by the teachers and students on the spot.
Finally, Teacher Rong Ke gave a summary of the seminar and expressed thanks to Prof. Ronaldo for this wonderful lecture, leaving a successful end.
