At the noon on Nov. 26, 2018, the 65th Session of Chen Daisun Theoretical Economics Lecture was held in Rm. 221, Mingzhai Hall, which teachers and students from the Institute of Economics, School of Social Sciences and the School of Marxism attended actively. The Lecture was chaired by Associate Prof. Zhao Zhun and the lecturer was Prof. Yang Hutao from the School of Economics, Zhongnan University of Economics and Law, whose research centers on evolutionary economics, history of economic thought and political economics. His lecture focused on the theme “Marxist economics and evolutionary economics in the age of pluralism”.
Prof. Yang Hutao compared Marxist economics and evolutionary economics which are considered as “non-orthodox” economics by economists, analyzed the historical and main scholar’s views in an orderly way and step by step, and clarified that Marxist economics prepares reference for evolutionary economics and is significant for making up for inadequacies of evolutionary economics, and that micro-analysis of evolutionary economics and ecological issues in the field can also enrich and develop Marxist economics. His in-depth comparison of views of French Regulation School and evolutionary economics and between them and Marxist economics aroused great interest of the students.
Associate Prof. Wang Shengsheng systemically summarized views of Prof. Yang Hutao and thought them stringent in logic and thought-provoking. Associate Prof. Zhao Zhu and Prof. Yang Hutao carried out explorations and the students addressed questions wonderfully in particular.
After the seminar, Associate Prof. Zhao Zhun, the host, delivered a souvenir plate of the Chen Daisun Theoretical Economics Lecture to Prof. Yang Hutao. All the teachers and students on the spot posed for a group photo. The seminar was successfully concluded. We thank Prof. Yang Hutao for his wonderful views and the teachers and students for their active participation.
