On April 24, Institute for Innovation and Development, Tsinghua University held a symposium on path of manufacturing transformation and upgrading in the intelligent Internet era at Shuangqing Building. Zhang Yongwei, research fellow at Development Research Center of the State Council, Zou Lumin, CTO of E-COM Technology Limited, Li Xumeng, EMBA professor at Shenzhen Institute of Renmin University of China, Bai Gang, President of Shanghengzhiben Consulting Co., Ltd. Beijing and postdoctoral research fellows at the Institute attended and had discussions in the symposium.
In the morning, Zou Lumin delivered a keynote speech on Industry 4.0 revolution and its architecture, macroscopically introducing the evolution from Industry 1.0 to Industry 4.0, the possibility of reindustrialization in the US, essential functions of software-oriented intelligent equipment, the impact of technology on future society, application scenarios of the Internet of Things as well as risks faced by intelligent machines in future. In the afternoon, participants had warm discussions about the path of intelligent manufacturing transformation and upgrading. Li Xumeng pointed out that in future intelligent system, the ecosystem will shift from buyer-seller relationship to community partnership, with data and trust playing a key role. Bai Gang suggested seeking applications with demand-side pressure and conducting research on key nodes and typical factories. Zhang Yongwei indicated great potential of traditional industries in intelligent upgrading, and recommended research by industry from “point, line, plane, cloud and network”.
The symposium elucidates the idea and framework of the path of intelligentizing traditional industries. Next, efforts will be made to carry out surveys in specific enterprises, actively integrate resources from the government, industry and academia, and form academic and policy-based research results, thus providing solutions to intelligentization of enterprises.
