Zhao Yihan, Graduate of the Institute of Economics, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Won 2022 Contemporary Economics Doctoral Innovation Project

According to the final list of 2022 Contemporary Economics Doctoral Innovation Project published recently, Zhao Yihan, a PhD graduate of the Class of 2022 from School of Social Sciences, Tsinghua University, grabbed a sopt on the roll with her dissertation Economic Growth and Structural Dynamics: Theoretical Expansion and Empirical Research on Linear Production Theory.

Dr. Zhao Yihan graduated from the Institute of Economics, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences in 2022 under the guidance of Associate Professor Li Bangxi, and serves as an assistant professor at the School of Humanities and Social Sciences, Beijing Institute of Technology.

The honorary dissertation Economic Growth and Structural Dynamics: Theoretical Expansion and Empirical Research on Linear Production Theory has promoted the sinicization and quantitative development of Marxist political economy, and provided a mathematical basis and analytical framework for the study of major realistic questions of Chinese economy by combining Marxist political economy theory with linear production model and linear programming method. The dissertation has put forward specific policy suggestions for the feasible direction of China's current economic structure adjustment based on the following efforts: figuring out the potential growth rate and the optimal growth structure of China's economy, and analyzing the main factors that restrict China's economic growth in different stages before summarizing the general rules and national differences of economic structure changes in the process of industrialization through international comparison. Part of the paper has been published in the top domestic economics journals, including Economic Research Journal and Management World.

It is reported that the "Contemporary Economics Doctoral Innovation Project" was established by the National Economics Foundation. The Project aims to support outstanding doctoral graduates of economics from Chinese universities who aspire to make innovative contributions in the field of economics, and encourage them to devote themselves to research in the academic frontier and contribute to the innovative development of economic science. The Project, which is held annually and supports up to 10 young scholars at a time, is an important reward for China's young rising stars in economics.
