Formosa Plastics Group was founded in 1954, and it is Taiwan's largest conglomerates. In 2008, the Formosa Plastics Group's total revenue amounted to NTD 2.18 trillion yuan, accounting for 17.18% of the Taiwan's GNP, the main business areas include: refineries, petrochemicals, plastic raw materials, secondary processing of plastics, fibers and textiles, electronics materials, mechanical products, logistics, and large medical centers.
Group founder Wang Yung-ching was awarded by the Japanese as the "god of business." Shortly after the creation of enterprises, Wang attached great importance to the construction of computer. In 1966 he leased two computers for business management, and selected a number of staff to write applications software. In 1982, the Formosa Plastics Group, the company itself completed and implemented enterprise resource planning (ERP). To 2000, Formosa Plastics Group achieves a global financial accounting "settlement day", and therefore entered the development stage of knowledge. ERP business with Formosa Plastics Group has become a product of independent intellectual property rights, renowned four places.
